The reactions can be timeless, the feeling is sad, the cloud isn’t blue and obviously the silence is deafening. I can’t imagine the Chelsea dressing room, i mean the fans room all over the world. It was indeed another sad weekend with a lot of talking points in the match but the baseline ~ Chelsea lost again!!!
The summary of the match isn’t needed, lets hear what boss Mourinho has to say after ..
The major talking point, however, came in the 66th minute when Lucas, who was already on a yellow card, fouled Ramires but was given only a warning, rather than a second yellow.
When asked for his thoughts on the game, Mourinho responded: ‘No. I’d like to listen more than being questioned.’
He was then asked if he felt Lucas should have been sent off.
‘What do you think?’ he replied. ‘I’m punished if I tell you. You are not punished. What are you afraid of?’
The Blues boss couldn’t fault the effort of his players
‘There are things that are out of our hands. The players tried. You could feel, and not just because we scored in the first couple of minutes, the attitude, desire. It was 50-50 despite the fact we were winning 1-0. There were two minutes of added time (in the first half) and we conceded the goal after two minutes and 35 seconds.
The manager, who said he doesn’t think it was his last game in charge, felt his side showed they are still playing for him
‘I have no doubt. If you saw some individual performance below a normal level there were not many, a maximum of a couple. Even those ones suffered because they were not able to do more. The team is together.’
In his final remarks ‘I will go home to a sad family and try to watch the rugby, disconnect from this and start preparing training for tomorrow morning and the game on Wednesday.’
