Champions Chelsea won only their second league game this season against nine-man Arsenal in a fiery and scrappy match at Stamford Bridge. Scrappy maybe because of the Costa/Gabriel issue but even before the Red Card, Chelsea looked the better side.
Chelsea Manager kept fate with Defender Kurt Zouma in place of captain John Terry and he paid off heading home the opening goal after 53 minutes with Chelsea secured only their second win in six Premier League games this season when Eden Hazard’s shot bounced off Chambers to beat Peter Cech.
Diego Costa enjoyed a cult status as the anti-hero of Stamford Bridge but like bbs said “you will not hear many warm words for him anywhere else and certainly not from Arsenal”. Its already happening as the whole world has something to say about Diego Costa today.
The game brought some history with it, some of which are that no team in Premier League history has seen more players sent off than Arsenal (79, same with Everton) and Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea are still unbeaten against Arsenal in their last eight Barclays Premier League encounters (W5 D3).
