Niger-ia, Oliseh gets first Head Coach win in friendly against Niger (2-0)

New Head Coach of the Super Eagles Sunday Oliseh only had to wait for his second game in charge to secure his first victory. A convincing 2-0 victory at full time by the score line means he has 4/6 to his record in charge. One draw in the AFCON qualifiers and this Friendly win, friendly or not it is a big boost for the new Coach.

Oliseh was appointed as coach in July this year, but his presence did not have an inspiring effect on his players against Tanzania on Saturday, with the Super Eagles fortunate to claim a 0-0 draw away from home in qualifying for the AFCON finals in Gabon in 2017

The draw with Tanzania was a dent to Nigeria’s hopes of automatic qualification for the AFCON after failing to reach this year’s edition of the tournament, particularly with seven-time champions Egypt providing strong competition in their group.

There are upcoming games that needs serious planning and Nigerians will only expect the best from their new coach. Nigeria take on Burkina Faso in the African Nations Championship over two legs in October prior to a World Cup qualifying tie with Djibouti or Swaziland in November and home and away games with Egypt next March.

We wish Oliseh all the best, Do you think Sunday Oliseh’s squad lacks depth and that he needs more pro league players?
