St. James Park v Mourinho, Chelsea escapes with a 2-2 draw against Newcastle

An amazing 2nd half display from Subtitutes Willian and Ramires ensured that the trip to newcastle did not end in a horrible defeat in a match that looked bad for the blues from the 1st half. The Champions display was so below par that when Newcastle went ahead in the first half, everyone believed they deserved it and you could easily swear chelsea were not coming out of the sinking ship until 2 goals in 10 minutes made the champions escape defeat.

Mourinho speaking after the match “The second half was a positive but I have to think a lot about the negative first half,’ Mourinho said. ‘I am both relieved and disappointed. I have extreme feelings of the negative and the positive. It depends on the opposition team and the objective but normally I am not happy with a point

It hadn’t looked like being a good day in the North-East for the fourth season running but character and quality was shown in abundance as the blues fought back from two goals down to leave for London with something tangible to show for an excellent finish to the game.

It was Ramires’s thunderbolt goal that gave Chelsea a boost of life after going down 2-0 with a first half goal by Perez and second goal by Wijnaldum around 60th min. Ramires’s goal was “Game On” for the blues who looked very much alive and got a second via Willian’s free kick with Ramires missing the header and he Ramires would have gotten the winner if not for Krul.

A super Sub Ramires for the Blues against Newcastle. He must be very happy because He went into that match as a new father … Bruno (his son) was born just before the Newcastle trip.

For the Chelsea fans, this is a mixed feelings of “Thank God” we didnt loose but 8 points in 7 games, sitting 15th on the table doesn’t look anything like the Chelsea we know…

Is Chelsea ever coming back?
